After reset on the "Hello" screen you need to press the home button to continue. Unless the issue with the home button was caused by an external factor, such as accidental damage, or user mishandling of the device and the iphone is still in warranty, Apple will surely repair the home button for free. Proximity sensor issue after screen replacement. I've searched through the sub and most people's issues arise/arose after a software update of some sort. Mine appears to be related to the screen replacement I had on my P6P last week. Screen won't turn off with the phone near my ears when on a call. Turning off the screen doesn't work either as Thank you! Try reconnecting the Touch ID flex. If the same issue persists, even with the old screen, I believe you may have damaged the flex. Every time I repair a screen and transfer the home button, I heat the bottom of the display with a hot air gun for at least a 45 seconds to 1 minute so I can remove the flex with ease.You have to use the original home button with this repair. Any replacement home button will not function without being coded to the board. As for the sensitivity, it could be a faulty home button connectors which is attached to the display.
